How long can we suffer?

The Qur’an, it’s a book of scriptures of the Muslims: It gives the aggrieved person the right way to retaliate in matters of the slain.
In a civilized society, we cannot go out and shoot people who are killing us—but society has to respond to a legitimate cry of a people who need a redress of their grievances in the appropriate forums that are set up for that.

The problem with us is that we have been grieving over Whites killing Blacks, not for a day or a week or a month or a year! But ever since our fathers set the soles of their feet in the Western Hemisphere 460 years ago, we have been murdered outside of the law of justice by Whites who did not care for us. Police were formed during slavery to keep Blacks on the plantation; to run down runaway slaves and bring them back, and punish them for running away from their slave masters.

When the great move from the South to the North started taking place after the so-called Emancipation Proclamation, Whites were made into patrols. Many of the same Irish policemen that police communities today were ordered to run down Blacks who were trying to escape. So if they found us at the railroad station, if they found us at the ferry, if they found us in the bus depot—wherever it was that we could get away, their job was to round us up and return us to the plantation not for our benefit, but for the benefit of those who were the owners of the plantations, and we were the sharecroppers. And if we left, the Whites would have nobody to do the work on their plantation.

Having said that… How long can a people suffer without that people giving an appropriate response to tyranny and oppression? – The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan
