Decapitated Body Found In Mississippi Identified In June… Still No Arrests

This may not be breaking news, but it’s heartbreaking. In June of 2017, A man whose severed head and charred body were found in separate locations, died from decapitation. The victim was later identified as 30-year-old Jeremy Jerome Jackson.

The head of Jackson was found on a porch in Jackson, Mississippi and his torso was severely burned and found a mile away from the home hours later. Jackson suffered a non threatening gunshot wound to the leg. His cause of death, decapitation.

Despite the $20,000 award, there has been a couple of leads in the case but no person of interest. Jackson Police Chief,  Lee Vance, requested federal help with this case and the killing of Johnny Brown, who was shot during daylight hours the Friday before Jackson’s killing, while working at a kids’ barber shop.

“Obviously, rage was an ingredient, perhaps some type of message sending,” Vance said

Was the message that was trying to be sent so severe that a body had to be decapitated? Are the whites in Mississippi so racist and the blacks so fearful that even a reward of $20,000 can’t get people to talk?
